WHAT WE BELIEVE

As a church we hold the following beliefs as essential to the Christian faith

Our Pastor and people are happy to share the born again, saving gospel message of Christ. That is, that all need to accept the Lord Jesus Christ into their life as Saviour and live for Him as Lord. We accept that for all people there is a hell to shun and a heaven to gain. We believe in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in a practical sense concerning our daily service for Christ. We believe that God saves us, changes and transforms us to live for godliness, kindness, goodness, love and grace. All are welcomed.

We at Wycliffe Memorial Evangelical Church simply uphold that timeless Christian belief in the Triune God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” – 1 John 5:7

We stand on the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ:

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” – Isaiah 7:14

We believe in the sinless life of Jesus Christ and His atoning death on the cross of Calvary:

“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. – 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21

We believe in His bodily resurrection from the tomb, and glorious ascension into heaven. Today, our Lord Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven and intercedes for us:

“Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come” – Ephesians 1:20-21

We also accept in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus from heaven. We stand pre millennial concerning His second coming:

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” – Titus 2:11-13

All need to accept the Lord Jesus Christ into their life as Saviour and live for Him as Lord.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” – John 1:12

We accept that for all people there is a hell to shun and a heaven to gain.

We believe in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in a practical sense concerning our daily service for Christ. We believe that God saves us, changes and transforms us to live for godliness, kindness, goodness, love and grace.

We use only the Authorised (King James) Version of the Bible for teaching, preaching and ministering.
