Founded in 1912, Wycliffe Memorial Evangelical Church has remained steadfast in its commitment to sound Bible teaching—a legacy faithfully upheld today by Pastor David Solt.

You’ll find plenty of parking spots just across the road, Tulketh Brow, plus a smaller parking area at the side. Blue badge holders are welcome to park right outside the church for convenience.

Pastor David Solt grew up in Arizona, USA. In 1984, while on assignment for the United States Air Force in Southeast England, David Solt trusted Christ as his personal Savior.
Years later, after attending Bible Seminary near Chicago and meeting his wife, Mary Beth, he received the call that God wanted them in Britain. Their ministry began in London in November 1996, and for 12 years, Pastor David led the Park View Baptist Church in Southall/Hayes. Eventually, the Chelsea Community Baptist Church was organized.
In 2008, the Solts were involved in helping Victory Baptist Church in Blackpool, which was struggling at the time. In 2010, they came to Preston and founded the Faith Baptist Church, which met in a community hall in Cottam for over two years. Shortly thereafter, they met the people of the Wycliffe Memorial Evangelical Church. In 2013, Faith Baptist Church and Wycliffe Memorial Evangelical Church merged.
Pastor David and Mary Beth have been happily married for over 30 years. They have three sons, Daniel, Joshua, and Jeremy. All three sons have graduated from Bible Seminary in Chicago. Daniel and his family serve at Wycliffe, Joshua is serving at a church in Iowa, and Jeremy is a music director at a church in Massachusetts.

Daniel was born in London while Pastor Solt served at Parkview Baptist Church. At a young age, he accepted Christ as his Saviour.
During his seminary years in Chicago, Daniel felt God leading him back to England to serve in ministry. It was also at seminary that he met his wife, Rachel, who grew up in a pastor’s home in Florence, Montana. In March 2025, Daniel accepted a call from Wycliffe to serve as assistant minister, focusing primarily on the youth. He and Rachel moved with their family in April of that year and have been serving the church ever since. They are blessed with two children, Ruby and Andrew.
